The Japanese digital art collective teamLab are the creative masterminds behind this mesmerising and fully immersive digital art experience. With the aim to produce collaborative projects that navigate the confluence of art, science, technology, design and the natural world, they have successfully created a space of digital artworks that hold no boundaries, creating a truly borderless world for us to wander, explore and discover.
Dive into a world of sensory overload, divided into a number of dynamic and intriguing spaces; all offering something wildly different. From the colourful light animations to the piercing sounds, your senses will heavily stimulated.
A fascinating concept to teamLab Borderless is the ability for the artworks to move in and out of their designated spaces, intertwining and communicating with other art, whilst also interacting with you. This really emphasises the borderless element to the digital art museum.
It’s very easy to be drawn into the art that surrounds you, so be prepared to find yourself glued to a spot every now and then, admiring and taking everything around you in.
To add, this whirlwind of an experience subconsciously encourages us to create our very own unique journeys within it, letting our imaginations and curiosities create a path and lead the way. No visitors’ experience can be the same here, and that’s what makes it special.
Tips
Book tickets ahead of time for a speedy entrance and avoidance of queuing too long.
The earlier you visit, the better. The museum starts to get quite busy by noon.
